Electrical Safety
Electrical safety is paramount. Australian Standards for electrical products exist to protect end users from many potential hazards, the most important of which includes electrocution and fire. All of our Treatment Tech products comply with Australian Standards where applicable, including AS/NZS 3100 and AS/NZS 3105 for our control units. Compliance with these standards is checked and certified by the relevant authorities and we are then listed on the Electrical Equipment Safety Scheme as a responsible supplier, giving you peace of mind that our controllers are manufactured to the highest quality and safety standards.
AS 1546.3:2017 On-Site Domestic Wastewater Treatment
Treatment Tech controllers are designed so that the operation is compliant with the requirements of AS 1546.3:2017. This includes meeting requirements such as:
Audible and visual alarm indication
Mute functionality that resets after 24 hours
Controller Upgrades and Compliance
There is no prohibition in AS 1546.3:2017 (or in legislation) against replacing the control panel in a domestic wastewater treatment system with a different model. In fact, in clause 2.3.13.3 the standard specifically recognises that upgrading a controller does not require the entire system to be re-tested:
This principle makes sense: replacing a controller is no different to fitting a different pump or blower, provided the replacement meets or exceeds the performance specifications of the original. In practice, even OEM manufacturers rely on this clause when they update their own systems with new controller models, pumps, or blowers without requiring the entire treatment plant to go through the long and expensive process of re-testing.
