Decant Solenoids on Ozzi Kleen Systems

Over the years there have been several different solenoid models used for decant control on Ozzi Kleen systems. The following guidelines will help you evaluate the compatibility when upgrading the system with a Treatment Tech FLEX Wastewater Treatment Controller.

Older Ozzi Kleen systems using a MkIII or MkIV controller and earlier OK1 controllers use a solenoid similar to the following:

Ozzi Kleen Decant Solenoids | Treatment Tech Wastewater Treatment Controls

Burkert 6011 A
24VAC 4W/6VA

Note that although the solenoid is rated for a 24VAC supply it’s acceptable to also operate from a 12VDC supply.

In later years, Ozzi Kleen systems transitioned to using a solenoid with a larger orifice size. This is not only physically larger but also has a higher power requirement, which unfortunately at the time of writing is not compatible with the Treatment Tech FLEX controller. The larger solenoid will not damage the FLEX but it is likely to cause an output fault alarm when it attempts to turn the solenoid on.

Larger, 24VAC 8W solenoid used in later Ozzi Kleen systems.

Yes, this one has seen better days!

If you are upgrading an Ozzi Kleen system with a FLEX controller and that system uses one of the newer decant solenoids please be sure to purchase one of our replacement solenoids SOL-24.
